Limit

The eligible entrants should be 18 years or older each of whom is a D23 Member (General or Gold Membership) at the time of entry. There is a limit of 1 entry per person per category.

How to Enter D23 Mousequerade Costume Contest

Visit mousequerade.d23.com, complete and submit the registration form including your valid email address and the information requested on the form, which may include, but is not limited to, your legal first and complete last name (no initials); your preferred “stage name” (optional); phonetic spelling for name to be utilized on stage if you are selected as a Finalist; valid email address; phone number; street address (no P.O. Boxes will be allowed); city, state; and zip code. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to upload 3 to 5 sketches and/or photos of a costume you designed, along with the costume title/caption (300 characters or fewer), description (350 characters or fewer), costume dimensions, and list of materials. Submission must be in one of the following formats: .JPEG, .JPG, .GIF, or .PNG, and each image must not exceed 15 MB. You must select the costume category.

You may separately submit the same design Submission into more than 1 Category but may only be selected as a Finalist in 1 Category. Note that Categories A and B are for individuals only and Category C is for groups of two to eight (2 – 8) people, and there are descriptions of each below. If you select an incorrect Category based on the number of members submitting or the content, your Submission will not be considered. The Categories are as follows:

• Fantastic Worlds - From Never Land and Adventureland to Paradise Falls and beyond, this Category celebrates the most stunning costumes inspired by the best of Disney, Pixar, and Disney’s Parks around the world. (Single-person entry only.)
• Epic Adventures - From Tatooine to Wakanda, Pandora, and all the worlds beyond, costumes in this Category draw inspiration from the worlds of Marvel, Lucasfilm, Hulu, National Geographic, and 20th Century Studios (Single person entry only.)
• Casts of Characters - Friends and family alike come together to create their favorite cast of characters from any of the Disney universes. Duo entries and group entries (up to 8 total members) may participate. Limit of 2-8 people per entry (2 minimum; 8 maximum).

D23 The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Mousequerade Contest Winner Selection

Eligible Submissions will be judged by a panel of qualified judges to determine up to 10 finalist Submissions per Category A, B, and C, for a total of up to 30 potential finalist Submissions. The Judges will score the Submissions according to the following weighted criteria:

• Creativity and Originality of Costume(s): 50%
• Creative Use of Category Theme: 30%
• Use of Materials: 20%

The 10 Submissions per Category A and B and up to 80 Submissions for Category C that receive the highest scores in each Category (A, B, and C) will be the potential Finalists.

Finalist Event: During the Finalist event on August 10, 2024, the Finalists will participate in the Mousequerade contest at the Event. On August 10, 2024, each Finalist will present their costume to a panel of qualified judges for pre-judging prior to the Finalist Event, and to a live audience and judges on stage during the Finalist Event for approximately 1 minute to music. During the Finalist Event Judging Phase, eligible Finalists will be judged by a panel of qualified judges to determine the potential winners in each Category. The Finalist Judges will score the Submissions according to the following weighted criteria:

• Quality of Costume(s): 15%
• Craftsmanship of Costume(s): 15%
• Originality of Costume(s): 15%
• Use of Color and Materials: 15%
• Creative Use of Category Theme in Costume(s): 15%
• On Stage Presentation: 25%

The Finalist from each Category (A, B, and C) with the highest score from the Finalist Judges will be the potential Category winner.

D23 The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Mousequerade Contest Prizes

• 100 Finalist Prizes (Up to 10 per Category A and B and up to 80 for Category C): Each Finalist will receive 2 general admission one-day tickets (the winner and 1 guest) to attend the Event at the Anaheim Convention Center only on August 10, 2024. For Submissions with more than 1 entrant selected as Category Finalists (Category C), each team member will receive 2 general admission one-day tickets to attend the Event.
• 3 Category Prizes (3 total; 1 per Category): Each Category prize will be a Disney Gift Card for $500. If the Category Prize winner includes a group, only the designated entrant will receive the prize.
• 1 Audience Choice Prize: The Audience Choice prize will be a Disney Gift Card for $500).
