Hardrock.com Battle of the Bands 2019

Hard Rock is back with its annual Battle of the Bands competition. The competition gives aspiring bands, musicians, DJs and MC’s a chance to kick off their music careers and introduce themselves to leading music industry executives. Local Artist can enter the 2019 Hard Rock Battle of the Bands Mashup Contest for their chance to win $15,000 cash and a chance to perform at Hard Rock Cafe New York.

Limit: Age limit to enter the contest is at least 18 years. There is a limit of one entry during Contest Period.

How to Enter:

Each band (a maximum of 5 members) must select one Band Representative who will be sole contact person for the Band and have full legal authority to act on behalf of Band.

During Entry Period (December 1, 2018 to February 9, 2019), the Band Representative should visit www.hardrock.com/2019botb and complete the registration form with required details including Participating Location,  name of band, Band Representative name, type of performer, audition song link/ video recording of a live performance (audio or video) and Band’s Social Media Link or website.

Selection of Local Bands (February 10, 2019 to February 18, 2019):

Sponsor will select four eligible Local Bands from each Participating Location for the Live Competitions. A total of 24 Local Bands will be selected.

Local Competitions & Selection of Semi Finalist Bands (March 25, 2019 to April 12, 2019)

The selected 24 Local Bands will compete live at a local Participating Location and the Local Judges will select 2 Semi-Finalist Bands from each Participating Location based on following Judging Criteria: Originality (25%); Performance (25%); Audience Appeal/Stage Presence (25%) and Marketability (25%). The bands with highest score will be selected. A total of 12 Local Bands will be selected.

Finalist Competition

Part One (May 1, 2019 to May 15, 2019)

12 Semi-Finalist Bands and their Performance Videos that was produced during each performance at the Live Competition will be posted on www.facebook.com/hardrock for Voting. Each person may vote for their favorite Semi-Finalist Band based on Finalist Judging Criteria: Originality (25%); Performance (25%); Audience Appeal/Stage Presence (25%) and Marketability (25%).

Part Two (May 15, 2019 to May 21, 2019)

A panel of qualified judges will judge the Performance Videos of each Semi-Finalist Band based on Finalist Judging Criteria: Popularity (25%); Performance (25%); Audience Appeal/Stage Presence (25%) and Marketability (25%).

The three 3 Semi-Finalist Bands with the highest total scores will be the Finalist Bands.

 Grand Prize Competition (June 21, 2019)

The selected 3 Local Bands will compete with other Finalists during a live Finalist Performance in New York City. A panel of qualified judges will judge the live performances of each Finalist Band’s version of Mashup Songs based on following judging criteria: Originality (25%); Performance (25%); Audience Appeal/Stage Presence (25%); and Marketability (25%).

The Band with the highest total score from the Grand Prize Judges will be the Grand Prize Winner.

Prizes:

(1) Grand Prize:

 $15,000 awarded in the form of a single check to the Band (ARV: $15,000)

(3) Finalist Prizes:

A trip to New York City, New York for the Finalist Band (up to a maximum of 5 Band Members) and an opportunity to perform in the Finalist Performance

The trip consists of the following components for each eligible Band Member:

• Roundtrip coach
• Three nights/four days first-class hotel accommodations in New York City
•  Participation in the Finalist Performance
• Round-trip ground transportation
• Music-based experiences
• $100 spending money for each Band Member

The ARV of each Finalist Prize is $19,250
