You must be students enrolled in a private or public elementary or secondary school (grades K-12) or a home school (grades K-12) and have obtained a parent's or legal guardian's prior permission. You are allowed to enter once during the Promotional Period.

How do you enter the Google Doodle Contest 2024?

Create a Google Doodle that reflects your creative interpretation of the Contest theme: “My wish for the next 25 years...”, and use of the Google logo, as well as the unique and novel approach to the doodle. After that, enter the Contest in the following ways:

  • Visit doodle4google.com, and follow the instructions that appear on the "How it Works" tab. You will be requested to download and complete a one-page official entry form with (a) a doodle that reflects the Entrant's creative interpretation of the Contest theme “I am grateful for...” incorporating the letters from the Google logo; (b) all information at the bottom of the Entry Form including parents’ consent; and (c) a descriptive artist statement of 50 words or less.
  • Once the Entry Form is fully completed, it should be printed on a light-colored 8.5"X11" sheet of paper and signed by a parent/legal guardian. The completed Entry Form can be submitted virtually via a digital upload tool on the site, or as a hard copy by mail.

To submit an entry with video or audio elements (“AV Doodle”), please follow the instructions below:

  • Log in to Google Drive;
  • Click on "New" and select "File Upload"
  • Upload your doodle file and share it with viewer permissions with the following email address: [email protected]
  • Include both a static thumbnail of your doodle and a link to your doodle in your Entry Form via the digital upload tool at doodle4google.com or via mail.

How to submit Google Doodle Contest Entry Form:

  • Digital Upload Tool: Follow the instructions on the Contest Site under the "Enter" tab.
  • Hard-Copy Form: The entry form and Doodle must be mailed in an envelope (packaged carefully so it won't be damaged) with proper postage affixed, to the following mailing address:

Judging Criteria for Doodle for Google 2024

Submissions are divided into five "Grade Groups" for Judging:

  1. Grades K-3
  2. Grades 4-5
  3. Grades 6-7
  4. Grades 8-9
  5. Grades 10-12

All the entries received during the promotion period will be judged by a qualified panel of Judges and Google Doodlers on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Artistic skills.
  • Creativity and originality- considering the representation of the Contest theme “My wish for the next 25 years...”, and the use of the Google logo, as well as the unique and novel approach to the doodle.
  • Communication of the Contest theme in both the doodle and supporting statement - how well the Entrant explains what "My wish for the next 25 years...." in the supporting statement and Doodle.
  • Adherence to the Doodle Requirements.

Doodle for Google 2024 winner selection

There will be 3 levels of judging that will result in finalists at each of the following levels: "State and Territory Winners", "National Finalists", and a "National Winner", on the basis of the Judging Criteria:

  • Level One: State and Territory Winner Level- 55 Winners will be selected (1 per state, at least 10 per grade group), as follows: Each doodle in each grade group will be given a ranking from 1 to 55, 1 being the highest ranking, depending on the score that it received from independent Guest Judges and Google doodler artists. Only 1 Entrant from each state can move forward as a State or Territory Winner.
  • Level Two: National Finalist Level- From among the 55 State and territory winners, a total of 5 national finalists will be selected, as follows: The judging at this level will be comprised of 2 components: (i) public voting via the Contest Site; and (ii) Google doodler artists. First, the public will vote on the Doodles. Online public voting will last for a period of 5 days, from May 22nd, 2024, to June 4, 2024. At the completion of the public voting period, the panel of Google doodler artists along with the guest judges will consider the number of votes that each of the 54 State and Territory Winners received, as well as the Criteria.
  • Level Three: National Winner Level- By applying the Criteria, a panel of Google Employees will then choose 1 National Winner from among the 5 National Finalists.

Google Doodle Contest 2023 Prizes

1 National Winner: One national Winner’s artwork will be displayed on Google.com for one day. He or she will also receive:

  • A $30,000 college scholarship;
  • $50,000 in value towards the establishment/improvement of a computer lab or a technology program for the U.S. School where the Entrant is enrolled;
  • The National Winner's doodle will be placed on google.com by the end of 2023 in the United States for one day.
  • If the National Winner is enrolled in a homeschool, the homeschool will receive a $5,000 technology stipend (issued in the form of a check).

4 National Finalists: The Four National Finalists, who do not become the National Winner, will have their doodles featured on the Doodle for Google Gallery. Each National Finalist will receive:

  • A $5,000 college scholarship; and
  • A Chromebook (ARV: $244);
