Nominate yourself or someone you admire for the chance to win a $250 Dollar General Gift Card + $250 in cash, and be featured in RITZ and Dollar General's 2026 national programming as a literacy champion. How to Enter in Read with RITZ at Dollar General Contest:

To participate, visit readwithritzatdg.com/contest during the Entry Period and submit your valid email address to begin. Complete the online registration form with all required details, including your full name, phone number, street address, city, state, ZIP code, and date of birth.

Next, follow the on-screen instructions to:

• Submit a written response (max 500 words) to the prompt: “Tell your inspirational literacy story detailing the challenges you faced, how you found help to further your education, and how you created a brighter future for yourself, your family and your community.”
• Upload a personal photo that visually represents your literacy journey. The photo may include others (with their permission) or pets, as long as it meets the contest’s requirements.

Each complete registration, essay, and photo submission constitutes one entry.

Read with RITZ at Dollar General Contest Judging and Winner Selection:

During the Judging Period, all eligible entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges selected by the Sponsor. Entries will be scored based on the following criteria: Authenticity (30%), Creativity (30%), and Relevance to the Contest Theme (40%).

The three entries with the highest overall scores will be named potential Grand Prize winners. The next five highest-scoring entries will be named potential First Prize winners.
