If you know any talented tweens, whether within your family or community, invite them to take part in the Build A Bright Future Contest. This contest offers them the exciting opportunity to win generous cash prizes by showcasing their unique talents, outlining their plans for utilizing the grant money to bring their vision to life and demonstrating how their project can contribute to the betterment of their community.

A total of 35 tweens will be recognized with cash prizes, including 5 Grand Prizes of $5,000, 10 runner-up prizes of $2,000, and 20 Honorable Mention Prizes of $1,000. Limit: The eligible entrants should be 18 years or older at the time of entry. There is a limit of 1 Submission per household per category.

How to Enter the Build Bright Future Contest:

 

A parent or legal guardian must complete the Application on behalf of a child aged 8 to 15, known as the "Applicant." Find the Application at BuildABrightFuture.com. Fill it out, stating that a parent or guardian is submitting the Application for their child (aged 8 to 15).

Application Components:

The Application, completed by the Applicant, includes:

Written responses to demographic and contact questions.

Responses to prompts:

• Describe your dream project: What's your business, nonprofit, side hustle, or passion that needs funding?
• Explain your idea's impact on your community.
• Share your personal motivation (your "why").
• Outline your project's goals for the next five years.
• Upload a 30-second to 1-minute video introducing yourself, your idea, and how you plan to use any prize money if you win.

Word Count Limits:

• 200 words for the dream project description.
• 100 words for the idea's community impact.
• 100 words for personal motivation.
• 100 words for the project's future goals. 

Build A Bright Future Contest Judging Criteria:

Up to 35 potential winners will be selected by the Sponsor from all eligible Applications received during the Application Period. Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:

Content:

• 3 points: Applicant thoroughly covers all the required questions listed above.
• 2 points: Applicant only covers a few of the required questions listed above.
• 1 point: Applicant does not answer any of the required questions above.

Execution:

• 3 points: Solution is highly realistic, meets a specific need, and has been executed.
• 2 points: Solution is somewhat realistic, meets a need, but hasn't yet been executed.
• 1 point: Solution is not realistic, doesn't meet a need, and has not been executed.

Time Limit:

• The video must be within the required 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Passion/Enthusiasm:

• 3 points: Applicant shows passion and enthusiasm and clearly explains their "why."
• 2 points: Applicant shows some passion and enthusiasm but doesn't clearly explain their "why."
• 1 point: Applicant does not show passion or enthusiasm and doesn't clearly explain their "why."

5 Grand Prize winners will win:

• $5,000 cash via a WIT-issued check for supporting the winner's creative idea/business.
• Four-week virtual leadership/entrepreneurial/creativity education course in spring 2024.

10 First Prize winners will win:

• $3,000 cash via a WIT-issued check for supporting the winner's creative idea/business.
• Four-week virtual leadership/entrepreneurial/creativity education course in spring 2024.
• One-year free access to the WIT community.

20 Honorable Mention Prize winners will win:

• $1,000 cash via a WIT-issued check for supporting the winner's creative idea/business.
