How to Enter Create TV Cooking Contest

• Visit createtv.com/challenge, then submit a Video in English that is 2 minutes or less, depicting the preparation of a recipe in a kitchen setting — or alternate venue (at a grill, countertop, stove, outdoors, etc.) — in a single, original presentation, referencing the source of the recipe, including any additional details associated with the recipe. If the recipe has been locally customized for local ingredients or is a regional recipe, be sure to explain that. The Submission Form requests a message of 280 words or less telling the story of this recipe and why it was submitted. Each Entrant may make a single submission; In addition, Entrants must submit an image of the completed dish — a JPEG attachment to the submission form is required.
• To enter, upload an embeddable Video to YouTube. You will be required to sign in to YouTube to post the Video. After uploading the Video to YouTube, an Entrant must complete a Submission Form by going to CreateTV.com/challenge. On the Submission Form, the Entrant will be required to enter his/her/their name; the call letters or brand name of his/her/their local public television station; a link to the Video hosted on YouTube; and an e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number for the purpose of contacting the Entrant who completed the Submission.

The Create Cooking Challenge Winner Selection

The preliminary judges will select between 20 and 40 Videos to be finalists. A final panel of judges, consisting of industry experts will then select a single Grand Prize Winner and other prize winners. Videos will be judged on the following:

• 30%: Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and familiarity in working with food, subject matter, and understanding of the idea/subject
• 25%: Ability to present all ideas clearly within the allotted time, enunciating well
• 20%: Use of the camera frame and setting the stage — ensures that the Entrant and/or close-ups are in focus and clear and video matches what the Entrant is saying
• 20%: Telegenic appeal — appearance and how well the Entrant engages with the audience: looks at the camera, smiles, dresses appropriately, demonstrates comfort and organization in front of the camera in staging and presentation
• 5%: Unique idea and recipe and manner of presentation (use of additional visuals to support quality of message).

The Create Cooking Challenge Prizes

• 1 Grand Prize of $4,000 and production equipment valued at approximately $1,000 to finance and produce the completion of a digital series of 10 or more additional episodes, each 2 minutes in length, to appear on CreateTV.com
• 1 Second Prize of $1,000 and production equipment valued at approximately $1,000 for the completion of a short digital series of 3 additional episodes, each 2 minutes in length, to appear on CreateTV.com
• 8 selected Entrants will receive Create-branded goods in a prize package, each valued at $50.
