Brittney Johnson will choose the next Broadway sensation, so, sing with your heart to enter this video contest and get on the stage of New York’s Times Square with your starry talent and celeb style. Plus, you’ll win cash prizes up to $10,000, meet and greet with the casts of the show, or a chance to win a trip to New York City to witness the historic music show, and singing competition there is!

Make history in the midst of the star city of New York and become a Broadway superstar at once by entering the Prudential Stages on Broadway Singing Contest, as well as, win free cash prizes, a New York trip, and Stage Debut at Broadway Festival! Limit

The eligible entrants should be 18 years or older at the time of entry. There is a limit of 1 entry per person.

How to Enter Prudential Stages on Broadway Contest

Step 1: Create a video of up to 180 seconds in length and with a file size no larger than ##MB including the following in the video:

(A) Verbally answer the three following questions:

• Who was your role model when you started singing?
• What motivates you to keep getting better?
• What does this opportunity mean to you?

(B) Perform all or part of one of the following songs:

• “Independently Owned” from Shucked;
• “Giants in the Sky” from Into the Woods;
• “The Wizard and I” from Wicked;
• “Father Time” from Kimberly Akimbo; or
• “Darker Shade of Blue” from Some Like It Hot

Acceptable formats for the Video include AVI, MP4, MOV, and MPEG-2.

Step 2: Go to prudentialstagesonbroadway.com, and follow the on-screen instructions to register for the Contest and upload your Video to receive 1 entry into the Contest.

Stages on Broadway Video Contest Winner Selection

(A) Contest Judging: Entries will be judged and scored by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:

• Quality of vocal performance (1-50 points);
• Reflection of contest theme (1-25 points);
• Expression of response/stage presence (1-15 points); and
• Creativity/originality (1-10 points).

The 4 Entries receiving the highest scores according to the criteria listed above, will be declared the potential finalists.

(B) Finalist Challenge Event: The 4 Finalists will attend the Event on September 9, 2023, at Times Square Broadway between 41st and 47th Streets in New York City, NY where each Finalist will rehearse and finally perform 1 song and be interviewed by Brittney Johnson.

(C) Grand Prize Winner Determination: A panel of judges will grade each of the Finalists’ performance based on the following pre-determined set of criteria:

• Quality of vocal performance (1-50 points);
• Stage presence (1-30 points); and
• Expression of individual personality (1-20 points).

Stages on Broadway Singing Contest Prizes

• 1 Grand Prize: The winner will win $10,000 awarded in the form of a check and a complimentary consultation with a Prudential financial advisor.
• 1 First Runner-Up Prize: The winner will win $5,000 awarded in the form of a check and a complimentary consultation with a Prudential financial advisor.
• 1 Second Runner-Up Prize: The winner will win $2,500 awarded in the form of a check and a complimentary consultation with a Prudential financial advisor.
• 1 Third Runner-Up Prize: The winner will win $1,000 awarded in the form of a check and a complimentary consultation with a Prudential financial advisor.

4 Finalist Prizes: Each winner will win a trip for 2 to New York City, New York (ARV: $2,725 each).

The trip package will include:

• Round-trip, coach-class airfare;
• 4-Days /3-night hotel accommodations at a hotel;
• Round trip transfers;
• Meals while at Curtain Up;
• A night on the town including dinner, a Broadway show, and a meet-and-greet with cast members; and
• A $150 Travel Allowance (to be awarded in the form of a pre-paid gift card).
