Missouri Floor Pan Settlement

Missouri Floor Pan Settlement

A class action lawsuit settlement has been reached between Nissan and the Missouri customers who claimed that certain Maxima and Altima have a defective front floor pan that causes damages to the vehicles by rusting prematurely. Consumers who own 2002 through 2006 Nissan Altima or 2004 through 2008 Nissan Maxima currently registered in Missouri or registered at the time they carried out repairs related to the allegedly defective floor plan fall under the definition of Class Members for this settlement.

Proof Of Purchase: Class members need to provide proof of the repair cost, proof of payment, and other information as required by the administrator to verify the Missouri ownership when the repair was made. This is mandatory if the class members seek reimbursement for unreimbursed and previously paid out-of-pocket repair costs for the corroded front floor pan.

A vehicle’s floor pan is the base for the vehicle’s seats. It also serves as a barrier while providing the required rigidity. Nissan has come under the fire for rolling out vehicles with a defective front floor pan. Though Nissan hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing, they have agreed to settle the claims to avoid future costs and risks associated with ongoing litigation. Class members will be eligible for getting their vehicles inspected if they take their class vehicles to an authorized Nissan dealership within a year of the effective settlement date. Free repair services and a rental car for being used for up to five days will be offered to class members whose vehicle’s floor pan is found to be defective on being taken in for repair. Class members can claim a reimbursement for repair costs if they have already paid to repair the front floor pan corrosion in their Maxima or Altima class vehicle. For repairs that were conducted at a Nissan dealership, a reimbursement for 100% out-of-pocket expenses will be offered to the class members. The reimbursement amount will be capped at $5000 for repairs that weren’t conducted at a Nissan dealership.
