Now, Sutter home is celebrating its 31st anniversary with its annual Better Burger Recipe Contest to find out unique, juiciest eye-popping, jaw-dropping homemade burger recipes. If you are an All-Star burger and have an idea of the most delicious homemade burger recipe, then don’t be bashful! Here is a chance to share your unique burger recipe in Sutter Home Build a Better Burger Contest 2021 to win big cash prizes worth $25k, and some other great prizes like tickets for a professional baseball game and a free hotel stay at St. Helena, CA.

Limit: Participants must be 21 years or older. There is no limit on the number of recipes you may submit.

How to participate in Sutter Home Build A Better Burger® Recipe Contest 2021:

Online: Visit www.buildabetterburgercontest.com and follow instructions to complete the entry form with legal personal details and the name of your Recipe, your ideal Sutter Home wine pairing, patty type, bread/bun type, introduction, list of ingredients, recipe instructions, recipe yield, and how you learned of the contest.

Please note your state of legal residence will decide your cook-off region. You can also add cooking tips and/or upload a photograph of yourself or your completed burger with the entry.

Confirmation of Entry:

After making one-time registration, your recipe will be reviewed to make sure that your Submission obeys these Official Rules. Once your Recipe is reviewed, the confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entreated on the registration form.

Determining the Semi-Finalists:

From all received eligible entries, (16) Semi-Finalists (four (4) from each region) will be selected on the basis of judging criteria:

• Perceived Taste Appeal (40%) Does the recipe sound appealing?
• Creativity (25%) Is this recipe creative and one of a kind?
• Ease of Preparation (25%) Could anyone create this burger by following the recipe?
• Perceived Wine Pairing (10%) Does the wine complement and enhance the burger?

All potential Semi-Finalists will be notified starting on or about August 16, 2021.

Determining the National Finalists:

After that, all 16 semi-finalists have to prepare their unique burger recipe in a live cooking competition which will conduct at the tailgate lot near a professional baseball stadium on pre-determined dates listed in official rules.

A qualified panel of judges will select four (4) National Finalists one per region on the basis of the following judging criteria:

• Taste (40%): Does the burger taste good?
• Creativity (25%): Is this burger creative and one of a kind?
• Ease of Preparation (25%): How easily was the chef able to prepare the recipe?
• Pairing With Wine (10%): Does the wine complement and enhance the burger?

Determining the Grand-Prize Winner:

After that, all four finalists will compete together on October 7, 2021, at Sutter Home Winery in St. Helena, CA.

Judges will judge each burger based on the criteria below:

• Taste (40%): Does the burger taste good?
• Creativity (25%): Is this burger creative and one of a kind?
• Ease of Preparation (25%): How easily was the chef able to prepare the recipe?
• Pairing With Wine (10%): Does the wine complement and enhance the burger?

The one (1) National Finalist with the highest total score will be declared as the Grand-Prize Winner.

Prizes:

(1) Grand Prize: a $25,000 cash prize

(16) Semi-finalist prizes: (2) professional baseball game tickets in Regional Semi-Finalist Cook-Off city and (1) $200 pre-paid debit card for required burger ingredients. (ARV: $1800 for each)

(4) National finalist prizes: Two nights double occupancy hotel accommodations in St. Helena, CA, economy-class airfare, daily, reimbursement of the rental car, one (1) $200 pre-paid debit card to be used for dinner on Thursday, October 5, 2017. (ARV: $3500 for each)
