Booting happens when companies like Castle Parking Solutions place a boot on a vehicle\u2019s wheel thus preventing the drivers from operating their cars as they cannot turn the wheels. A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Castle Parking Solutions blaming the company for improper car booting in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Class Members constitute two subclasses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subclass A<\/strong> made up of individuals who had a vehicle in their possession that was booted by or at the request of Castle Parking and paid fines for the device\u2019s removal at a non-compliant lot within Atlanta and\/or Decatur between 10<sup>th<\/sup> October 2014 and 10<sup>th<\/sup> October 2017.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Subclass B<\/strong> constitutes members who had a vehicle in their possession that was booted by or at the request of Castle Parking and paid fines for the device\u2019s removal at a non-compliant lot within Atlanta and\/or Decatur between 10<sup>th<\/sup> October 2017 and 10<sup>th<\/sup> October 2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complaints filed by consumers against the company have led to a Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating of F and a Google review rating of 1.1 stars. While customers mostly complained about the company online, some drivers decided to move matters to the court. This led to the filing of a class-action lawsuit against Castle Parking Solutions claiming the company had unlawfully booted vehicles in Alabama and Georgia. As per the lawsuit, the company booted legally parked cars and forced the plaintiffs and other drivers to pay a boot removal fee. Several such complaints were lodged against Castle Parking on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. Though Castle Parking Solutions has not admitted any wrongdoing, it has decided to resolve these allegations with a $3.5 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweepstakesbible.com\/blog\/category\/settlement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">settlement<\/a> of which $3 million will be paid to Subclass A Members, and the remaining $500,000 will go to Subclass B.<\/p>\n<p>The Class Counsel will request up to $1,190,000 as reimbursement of expenses and to cover attorney\u2019s fees. They will also request the class representatives Mentewab Ayalew and Jim McAnally to be awarded $7500 and Kerington Youmans and Denise Gatewood to be awarded $5000 for representing the Class. Castle Parking will not oppose the request for the reimbursement of these expenses and fees up to the specified amount although the court might decide to award less than the same. They will separately pay the expenses and fees ordered by the court. However, these payments will not reduce the amount that is going to be distributed among Class members and Castle parking will separately pay the costs for administering the settlement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility For Making Claim:<\/strong> Class members constitute individuals whose vehicles were booted between 10<sup>th<\/sup> October 2014 and 10<sup>th<\/sup> October 2019 by Castle Parking Solutions in a non-compliant lot in Atlanta, Georgia, or Decatur. You can find the full list of non-compliant lots on the settlement website.
