CentralSquare Technologies is a provider of public-sector software solutions. A class action lawsuit<\/a> has been filed against CentralSquare by plaintiffs after the company announced its data breach<\/a> in October 2017. To qualify for the benefits of this settlement, you should have used your debit or credit card to make payments through the CentralSquare Click2Gov payment portal between Jan. 1, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2019. The payment card information of certain municipalities\u2019 customers was compromised because of the data breach. CentralSquare has agreed to the settlement despite denying all allegations of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

There are varying tiers of benefits and the class members may qualify for either one or more tiers of benefits. The first tier provides up to four years of credit monitoring to the class members at a discounted rate. However, class members will have to provide the necessary documentation for unreimbursed out-of-pocket expenses or losses in connection with the fraud. The third tier of benefits will also be provided to the class members who spent time addressing fraudulent transactions or monitoring their accounts in the aftermath of the data breach. They will be eligible for an hourly payment of $20 up to a maximum of three hours for the time spent on dealing with potential fraud. Apart from offering settlement benefits to the eligible class members, CentralSquare will also implement more stringent security measures for protecting user credentials. They will maintain an employee hotline where employees can lodge concerns about the company\u2019s security systems.
