This grilling season, Smithfield is encouraging barbeque lovers and pork fans to submit their most original and creative grilled fresh pork recipes using Smithfield ribs, chops, tenderloins and more in Smithfield Hog Wild Throwdown recipe contest for a chance to win one of two new 2016 Ford F-150 XL pickup trucks and take home the title of the Smithfield Hog Wild Throwdown champion. Moreover, you can get opportunity to throw down in front of award-winning celebrity pitmasters Moe Cason and Tuffy Stone and Weber Grillmaster Kevin Kolman. So hurry up and submit your unique port recipe to grab this golden opportunity of life.

Limit: All eligible participants can submit one recipe in each entry period. In addition, they must be at least 21 years old or older as the date of entry.

Entry Period 1:Submit Any Pork recipes from 5/11/16 through 5/31/16.

Entry Period 2: Submit Ribs recipes from 6/15/16 through 7/5/16.

Entry Period 3:Submit Grilled Pork "Like a Steak" recipes from 7/22/16 through 8/11/16.

How to participate in recipe contest:

During promotion period, create an original Entrée or Appetizer recipe cooked on a grill or smoker that includes a Smithfield Fresh Pork product that fits the category for one of the three Entry Periods mentioned above, and then go on www.SmithfieldThrowdown.comto register and submit your original recipe (see Recipe Guidelines below), along with a photo of your prepared recipe. Once you registered and submitted your recipe, you will get one entry in to sweepstakes drawing.

Semi-finalist judging:

All eligible entries will be judged by a qualified panel of judges on the basis of following criteria) Originality/Creativity using Smithfield product - 40%; 2) How Recipe will Likely Taste - 40% (based on ingredients used and judges' knowledge of how they would work together); 3) Appearance - 20%. Total ten entries that obtain highest score from each bracket (Pitmaster Pro and Backyard Barbecuer) will be announced as semi-finalist.

Public voting: All 20 Semi-Finalists (10 Pitmaster Pros and 10 Backyard Barbecues) recipe will be posted on the website for public voting. Visitors can vote for the Recipes and Photos that have the most creative use of pork meat and best keep with the spirit of the Entry Period theme. By voting, you will automatically get one entry in to sweepstakes grand prize drawing.

Voting period 1: beginning at 12:00:00 PM on 6/8/16 through 11:59:59 AM ET on 6/14/16.

Voting period 2: beginning at 12:00:00 PM on 7/13/16 through 11:59:59 AM ET on 7/19/16.

Voting period 3: beginning at 12:00:00 PM on 8/19/16 through 11:59:59 AM ET on 8/25/16.

Semi-Finalists will be judged on the criteria as follows: 1) 80% using the same criteria for the Semi-Finalist judging; 2) 20% Popularity based on voting.

Four entries that obtain highest score from each category will be declared as finalist and move on to the finalist judging.

Finalist Judging:

Again, Semi-Finalist Entries will be judged by celebrity judges Moe Cason and Tuffy Stone to select choose One Pitmaster Pro Finalist and one Backyard Barbecuer Finalist per Entry Period.
